Week 4, Term 4. What a fun week we are having. At home so many children have seen or had fireworks and today we had the school cross-country. Well done Rm 3. You have all done your best and ran very fast. It was a long way too!!! We had a gumboot throwing competition this afternoon. Mr Pedersen showed us how to throw a gumboot. It was hard but lots of fun On Friday we are all dressing in GREEN. Week 3 Term 4 We start this week off with a visit from The Dog Barking Company who are performing: The Little Kowhai Tree to the Juniors and betty Montford Kindergarten.
Your $5 needs to be paid first thing Monday morning if you would like your child to go.
Firewise - We begin this 3 week unit on Monday. This is a programme designed by the NZ Fire Dept to help children understand fire safety. They will be bringing home things to discuss with you at different times over the 3 weeks.

WOW - World of Wearable Arts: this week. Come along and see your child dressed up in a costumes related to the sea and the beach. 1.30pm in the school hall - Thursday 13th September. Bring along your parents, grandparents, aunties and uncles and your close friends.
Maori Language Week Kia ora to you all. This week the Junior classes are spending the afternoons Monday to Thursday rotating around rooms learning Te Reo and crafts. On Monday Rm 3 is learning all about Legends and Myths with Mrs Blenkhorn. On Tuesday we are making a poi with Mr Clark. On Wednesday we are learning some Waiata with Mrs McCallum. On Thursday we are doing Kowhaiwhai and Tukutuku Art with Miss Moore. Next Monday afternoon we are going to celebrate and share what we have learnt together. Monday afternoon (29th July) we will celebrate what we have learnt and made over Maori Language Week.
Welcome to Term 3. We have an exciting term ahead with an introduction this week to our Junior Class students to a Wearable Arts theme.....watch this space! We will be celebrating Maori Language Week next week (Wk 2). The Olympic Games follow and we will be having fun celebrating our own Rm 3 Olympics. Welcome to Mrs Claire McCallum who is opening up the next New Entrant class later this term. She is working with us in Rm 1 and 3. We are really enjoying her enthusiasm and love of teaching.

If you are able to help with transport please let me know. Thursday is our afternoon tea for parents and whanua. An invitation will go home today (Monday).
Welcome to Mrs Claire McCullum who is joining Rm 1 and 3 and then starting the new class in Rm 2 as our class numbers reach maximum.
Our ICT night was fantastic. It was held on June 6th and we showed our whanua and friends what we do for Literacy, Numeracy and Writing on the ipads, desktops and the data projector. It was a lot of fun.

Have you been in to see our wonderful carrot tops and seed heads. The carrot tops are not growing so well now but the grassheads are nearly ready for a haircut!!

We are underway with our equipment sessions for PMP. Photo's are under PMP on the side panel. We still need adults to help with these sessions so if you can spare 1/2 an hour a week or you know of someone else who could, please come along to our class session and have a look - every Tuesday and Friday morning at 9.15am.

Remember - : children can keep their water drink bottle in the classroom during class time. Juice bottles will need to stay in their bags. : bookbags need to be checked each day for notices. : children will have a literacy activity to do each night.
