Children will bring home a reading activity to do each night. As they begin we want them to enjoy themselves. Make the activity FUN. Do it with them or for them. Encourage them to copy you. Encourage them to show you the familiar. Can they find letters which are in their name? Where does the story start? Where is the cover and back of book? Play 'I spy' with the pictures in the book. Can they tell you what might happen next when you get to the end of the story. Half way through the story is there an exciting part where they can predict what might happen next.
